Kyzylkol River

Kyzylkol River

Kyzilkol is a mountain river in the Elbrus area, in the region where the waters from under the Elbrus glaciers are born. The name is of Turkic origin, and the river itself is typically Caucasian: cold, rapid and muddy from melting snow.

There is not much detailed information about it, so no guesswork: for the traveler, it is more of a landmark on the routes around Elbrus than a separate goal. But the icy water, rocks and panorama of the main giant of the Caucasus nearby are already good company.
