Parahilmen
Paragilmen is a limestone mountain with a height of 857 meters, a detached piece of the Main Range of the Crimean Mountains 2 km north of the village of Maly Mayak in the Alushta region. From the sea, it falls into a healthy trapezoid with almost vertical sides.
This is a monolithic limestone remnant: the slopes reach a steepness of 60-80 degrees, and the top is unexpectedly flat and stretches for about half a kilometer. The mountain is wooded - about 30 species of trees and bushes, a dozen of them from the Red Book, and two yew trees grow on the top, one of which is considered to be the oldest tree in Crimea.
Paragilmen has been a natural monument since 1964. It is clearly visible from the Yalta-Simferopol highway, from where the approach on foot usually begins.
