The river passes through three regions - Karachay-Cherkessia, Stavropol and Krasnodar regions - and flows into the Kuban near the city of Nevinnomyssk.
What is interesting to see nearby?
In the upper reaches lies the resort and pilgrimage town of Arkhyz, nearby is the Lower Arkhyz settlement with ancient Zelenchuk temples. And one of the largest observatories operates here - the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences with a giant telescope.
When is the best time to come to Zelenchuk Valley?
Verkhivya and Arkhyz are interesting all year round: mountains and walks in summer, skiing in winter. The flow itself is fed by rain and snow, so it is the richest in spring and early summer.
