FAQFrequently asked questions

What is Axout?

The mountain river in the Western Caucasus is 77 km long. It originates from the Khasaut glacier and carries its waters to Maly Zelenchuk, an upper tributary of the Kuban. It flows through Karachay-Cherkessia, Zelenchuk district.

Why should you go to Aksaut Gorge?

It is not for nothing that it is called one of the most beautiful corners of the republic: the valley is sandwiched between the Mysta-Bash and Aksaut ridges, and there are more than 17 square meters of glaciers. km Add to this healing springs - for example, the well-known spring in the village of Dubova Balka.

What is interesting to see on the way?

On the left bank stands an ancient square tower of hewn stone (6 by 6.3 m, walls 1.4 m thick), approximately 10-12 km from the village of Hasaut-Gretske. The village itself is interesting because it is compactly inhabited by Greek immigrants.

What settlements are there in the valley?

The main one is the village of Hasaut-Gretske with a Greek community. In the upper reaches, there used to be a village of Rudnychnyi with livestock farms, but now it is almost abandoned, so don't count on crowded streets there.
