Funa
Funa - the ruins of the medieval fortress of the Feodoro principality at the western foot of Mount Demirji, two kilometers north of the village of Luchyste. Theodorites built it in the early 1420s as an eastern border outpost to guard trade routes and defend against the Genoese. The Greek name translates as "smoky".
Fate did not spoil the fortress: it had just been built - an earthquake destroyed everything, it was rebuilt and turned into a real castle, and in 1475 the Ottoman Turks put an end to it. Since then, only the ruins have remained here.
At one time, Funa had an almost complete set of defensive structures - walls, towers, gates and even a church, and the main decoration was a three-tiered donjon. The fortress is small, a little more than half a hectare, but the location near Demirji generously compensates for its modest size with views.
