Uchan-Su
Uchan-Su is the highest waterfall in Ukraine: water flies down from a height of almost 99 meters. It is located on the southern slope of Ai-Petri, about 6 km north of Yalta, at an altitude of about 390 meters. The name is translated from Crimean Tatar as "flying water".
The waterfall forms two main cascades, and below the river makes several smaller ones. Near the second cascade is a small structure with an eagle sculpture, and above the waterfall there is an observation deck "Eagle's Flight". The trails on Ai-Petri start from here, so it is convenient to fit Uchang-Su into a longer route.
It is better to go in spring or winter, when it is full of water: in summer, the waterfall dries up almost completely, and in severe frosts, it sometimes freezes. The territory has been under protection since 1947, and since 1973 it has been part of the Yalta Mountain Forest Reserve.
