Ai-Petri Teeth (Zubtsy Ai-Petri)
Zubtsi Ai-Petri is the same jagged ridge above Yalta, which is recognized even by those who have never been to Crimea. Stone "teeth" rise above the southern coast at an altitude of about 1200 meters and have long become one of the symbols of the Crimean coast.
They were formed from ancient reef limestone, which weathering turned into a series of sharp rock towers. You can get here by cable car from Miskhor, mountain highway or hiking trails from Yayla, and the bravest walk along the teeth on the overhanging path above the cliff itself.
The view from here to Yalta and the sea is considered one of the most spectacular in Crimea - provided that the mountain is not hidden by the same cloud that likes to cling to the top.
