Yalta Yaila

Viewpoint 📍 Crimea

FAQFrequently asked questions

What is the Yalta tree and what is its height?

This is a hilly mountain plateau, part of the Main Ridge of the Crimean Mountains above Yalta. The highest point is Mount Kemal-Egerek, 1529.5 m; Jady-Burun (1423 m) and Junin-Kosh (1410 m) rise nearby.

How to get there?

The easiest option is to walk from Yalta along the path through Iograf-Bogaz. The popular tourist route No. 56 is also laid through Yaila. Get ready to gain height - it's more than one and a half thousand meters.

Do I need a visit permit?

Yes, partially. The southern slopes belong to the Yalta mountain and forest reserve, where you can go with a pass. But the northern part is in the Crimean nature reserve, and the entrance there is generally closed.

What can be seen here?

Alpine meadows with herbs and flowers, sparse forests in places, and karst underfoot: the plateau is riddled with caves like Arik-Basska and Andrusov. Plus views of the coast from a decent height.

What are the dimensions of an apple?

The elongated strip is about 14 km long and only 0.5-1.7 km wide. That is, it is long and narrow - there is a place to walk along the ridge.
