Yalta
Yalta is the most famous resort town on the southern coast of Crimea, spread out like an amphitheater between the sea and the mountains. Protected from cold winds by the Crimean mountain range, it has long been famous for its mild climate, cypress trees and a promenade that is pleasant to walk at any time.
Palaces, parks and vineyards are scattered around the city, and trails to the mountains and peaks of the main range start up from the coast. For a traveler, Yalta is a convenient base from where it is easy to reach both the sea and the mountains.
