FAQFrequently asked questions

What is the Gazebo of the Winds and where is it located?

This is a stone viewing gazebo-colonnade under a dome on the edge of the cliff of Gurzufskaya Yayla, on the top of Shagan-Kai. The height of the point is 1423 meters above sea level, so the view from there is serious.

Where did the name come from?

On the floor of the gazebo is laid out a mosaic with a wind rose - hence the name. By the way, the winds here are not decorative: gusts accelerate to 40 m/s, it is better to keep a cap.

What can be seen from the gazebo?

In clear weather, the eye can see for about 150 kilometers: Ayu-Dag, Gurzuf, Partenit and the Black Sea are visible. A cloudy day will hide all this, so catch clear air.

When was it built?

The gazebo was installed on the edge of the meadow back in 1956, and was reconstructed in 1998. The building itself is small - the dome is about 4 meters in diameter and 6 meters high.
