Paso John Gardner

Paso John Gardner

Mountain 📍 Patagonia

Gardner Pass (Paso John Gardner) is the highest point of the famous circular route "O" in Torres del Paine National Park in southern Chile. For the sake of the view from it, many people go on the entire multi-day tour of the massif.

From the saddle, the southern Patagonian ice field suddenly opens up and the huge Gray Glacier, sliding down the valley somewhere below, is a moment that is usually mentioned as the main impression of the entire trek. The pass is also famous for its character: the wind here is such that you have to bend over.

The descent is steep, wooded, with rope ladders in places, so we do not promise an easy walk. But Patagonia fully rewards those who make it.
