Güray Müze
The Güray Müze in Avanos is the world's first underground ceramics museum, tucked into caves and tunnels beneath a pottery town. Its atmospheric halls set ancient jars and plates beside the work of contemporary artists, for Avanos has shaped vessels from the red clay of the Kızılırmak river for thousands of years. Unlike the open-air rock churches, this is a purpose-built museum in cool subterranean galleries.
