Zelve

Zelve

Zelve was one of Cappadocia's busiest cave settlements: three linked valleys with homes, stables, mills and churches cut into tuff. People lived here until 1952, when rockfall risk forced relocation; today it is an open-air museum with paths between the Üzümlü bell tower and the Star Church. A nearby village once shared the same name and lent it to the whole area.
