FAQFrequently asked questions

What is the Little Lighthouse and where is it?

This is a resort village on the southern coast of Crimea, part of the Alushta District, about 11 km from Alushta itself. It lies at an altitude of about 290 m above sea level, so there are no problems with the views here.

Why such a strange name?

Earlier, the village was called Biyuk-Lambat, which translates from Crimean Tatar as "big lighthouse". In 1945, after the deportation of the Crimean Tatars, it was renamed - and for some reason the "big" lighthouse became "small".

How to get there?

The Simferopol-Yalta highway passes through the village, and a trolleybus also goes here - the same legendary Crimean route connecting Simferopol, Alushta and Yalta.

What to see nearby?

The ruins of the 19th century mosque "Biyuk-Lambat Jamisi" have been preserved, and Sharkha Mountain rises 2.5 km to the west. Nearby on the coast are the neighboring villages of Chaika and Bondarenkove with access to the Black Sea.

When is the best time to come?

As everywhere on the Southern coast of Crimea - in the summer for the sake of the sea, or in the mild spring and autumn, when the heat is no longer driving the beach away. Ak-Chokrak and Talma springs are nearby if you want fresh water.
