Shcherban

Shcherban

Mountain 📍 Carpathians

Shcherban (in some sources, Zherban or Shcherbin) is one of the highest peaks of the Marmara massif, reaching a height of about 1,793 meters. The variety of names is simply explained: the mountain stands right on the Ukrainian-Romanian border, and the maps of these regions were drawn at different times by the departments of different states, and everyone named the peak in their own way.

It lies in the Rakhiv district of Transcarpathia, not far from Pip Ivan Marmaroski. In the spring, the slopes here are famous for the blooming of daffodils, and shots from here have been included in photo contests more than once.

Consider the main thing: as a border peak, Shcherban is closed to visitors during martial law. Therefore, it is not worth planning a trip here now, no matter how much the polonys beckon.
