Petros Marmaroskiy

Petros Marmaroskiy

Mountain 📍 Carpathians

Petros Marmaroskyi is one of the prominent peaks of the Ukrainian Marmarosha region, a mountain region in the very south of Transcarpathia, in the Rakhiv district. Do not confuse it with Montenegrin Petros: it is a different mountain, from a different ridge, although the name is the same.

Marmaros are called the Hutsul Alps for a reason: here, instead of soft meadows, there are sharp stones, rocky ridges and steep slopes underfoot. Petros stands near the main star of the massif, Popa Ivan Marmaroski, so both peaks are often taken in one hike.

The routes are laid from the surrounding villages up the ridge. Get ready for a serious climb and a real alpine character: here they work with their feet, and not admire the view from the car window.
