Mazeri
Mazeri is a small mountain village in Svaneti, in the north-west of Georgia, i.e. in the heart of the Caucasus. It sits on the left bank of the Dolra River, the right tributary of the Inguri, at an altitude of about 1,614 meters. For Svaneti, the height is modest, but the difference is noticeable to the ears and lungs.
The main landmark in these regions is the town of Mestia, the main hub of Svaneti. Mazeri is about nine kilometers to the northwest of it, so first you get to Mestia, and from there to the village.
Do not count on a large populated settlement: according to the census, about one and a half hundred people, almost all Georgians, lived here. This is a quiet mountain community among the peaks, not a resort town, and that's what makes it attractive.
