Sólheimajökull

Sólheimajökull is an outlet glacier of the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap, wedged between the Katla and Eyjafjallajökull volcanoes. It is one of the most accessible and popular glaciers in the country, easy to reach near the town of Vík. Because of warming it is retreating fast, about 60 metres a year.
