Verecke Pass
The Verecke Pass (841 m) on the Watershed Ridge is one of the oldest crossings in the Carpathians: according to the Gesta Hungarorum chronicle, Árpád's Magyars supposedly crossed here in 895 (modern archaeologists dispute this). It links the Lviv region (Klymets) with Zakarpattia (Verbiazh, Nyzhni Vorota); a memorial stone stands on the saddle.
