Plai (Borzhava)
Plai is a 1,323-meter-high peak in the Polonyna Borzhava massif in Transcarpathia. Its neighbors are respectable: Temnatyk and Velikiy Verkh rise nearby, so in good weather the eye will not get bored.
The classic starting point is the village of Volovets, from where the mountain lies to the south. Then only with your feet up: first the shadow of the forested foothills, and then a forestless meadow opens up with steep, especially eastern, slopes.
A weather station has been operating at the very top since 1968. Vyacheslav Chornovil worked as an observer here in 1969-1970, and in 2007 a memorial sign was erected to him. Nearby are the antennas of the radio station and old fortifications from the times of the world wars have been preserved.
