Neapolis — an ancient city on the Lycian Way

The ruins of an ancient city right on the trail, near the village of Doyran, around the 14th kilometre of the eastern section. In Roman times Neapolis was a trading hub at the meeting point of Lycia, Pisidia and Pamphylia. Among the pines you can still see the theatre, temple remains, Lycian tombs and a Byzantine basilica. No ticket office, no turnstiles, just a bit of climbing and a lot of history underfoot.
