What is Khaphal and why go there?
Khaphal Reserve is a hydrological reserve in the Crimean Mountains with an area of 250 hectares, which has been protected since 1974. The main star here is the Jur-Jur waterfall, the largest in Crimea.

About 16 meters high and 5 meters wide, with a water flow of about 270 liters per second. Unlike many Crimean waterfalls, it does not dry up even in the summer.
What is interesting, besides the waterfall?
The Eastern Ulu-Uzen River descends in a cascade of waterfalls in a gorge at an altitude of about 468 m. Beech trees, oaks and almost 800 thousand Red Book berry trees grow nearby, and a rare freshwater crab lives in the water - also a Red Book crab.
How difficult is the route?
The lower part with the main waterfall is completely accessible by trails. But the upper part of the gorge is already for the prepared, without experience it is better not to climb there.
