Mount Frenk-Mezer

Mount Frenk-Mezer

Mountain 📍 Crimea

Frank-Meser is a panoramic mountain about 666 meters high, the southwestern spur of the Tuar-Alan ridge in the South-Eastern Crimea, in the vicinity of the Old Crimea. The peak is modest in appearance, but generous in terms of views.

From the top, a wide panorama of the coast opens from Sudak to Kara-Dag and the mountainous part of eastern Crimea; in clear weather, the eye reaches even Ayu-Dag. The ascent goes along a comfortable forest path, hidden from the direct sun, so it is much easier here in the heat than on the open slopes.

It is most convenient to enter from the side of Krasnokamyanka (aka Kyzil-Tash). There are many other points of interest nearby, such as the Surb Hach monastery or the Horta Sirt range, so it is easy to fit the mountain into a longer walk.
