Mount Nosorog (Parsuk-Kaya)
Rhino is one of the rock remains of the Kara-Dag volcanic massif in the southeast of Crimea, near the coast between Koktebel and Kurortny. The name, as it often happens in Kara-Dag, was given by the shape: someone once saw a head with a horn in the contours of the block, and the nickname stuck.
Kara-Dag is the remains of an ancient volcano, and there is a whole gallery of similar bizarre figures carved by wind and sea from frozen lava. The massif has a protected status, so most routes pass along organized paths.
