Mirador Maestri

Mirador Maestri

Viewpoint 📍 Patagonia

Mirador Maestri is an observation deck in the Patagonian Andes, near the Argentine town of El Chalten. It is named after the mountaineer Cesare Maestri, and is famous for the fact that it offers a view of the legendary tower of Cerro Torre - one of the most difficult peaks in the world.

You can get here by footpath from El Chalten, past the glacial lagoon under the mountain. The weather in these parts is capricious, so a clear day with an open top is considered a gift of fate, not a guarantee.
