Cerro Guanaco

Cerro Guanaco is a mountain in the very south of Patagonia, in Tierra del Fuego, very close to the Argentinian Ushuaia. It is modest in height, so do not be afraid of oxygen starvation: the real value here is not in meters, but in the panorama.

The path to the top is one of the favorite day routes in Tierra del Fuego National Park. The road leads past swamps, notofagus forests and peat bogs, and at the top there is a view of the Beagle Channel, the mountains and bays of the Edge of the World.

No special climbing equipment is needed, just hardy legs and readiness for the moody southern weather - here it changes faster than you can get a raincoat.
