Fagradalsfjall

Mountain 📍 Iceland
A young volcano on the Reykjanes Peninsula that woke up in March 2021 after lying dormant for roughly 6,000 years. The 2021 eruption ran for 181 days, the longest in 21st-century Iceland, and was followed by fresh outbreaks in 2022 and 2023. Thanks to its easy access it earned the nickname of a 'tourist' eruption.
