Hraunfossar

Waterfall 📍 Iceland

Hraunfossar ("Lava Falls") in western Iceland is not one stream but thousands of rivulets that seep for about 900 metres straight from under the Hallmundarhraun lava field into the turquoise Hvítá river. The water filters through porous lava from the Langjökull glacier. Nearby is the fierce Barnafoss with its grim legend.
