Khashupse Canyon

Khashupsy (Khashupse) is a picturesque canyon on the river of the same name in Abkhazia, near the village of Khashupse and the village of Tsandripsh near the coast. The river made its way through limestone rocks, and then carries its waters to the Black Sea.

The canyon itself is small, about a kilometer, but impressive: the walls in some places rise to more than a hundred meters, and in the narrowest gorges they converge so close that almost no light gets inside and the rocks are covered with moss. The place is popular among tourists - there are walking tours and snowshoeing.
