Koretvyna

Koretvyna

Mountain 📍 Carpathians

Koretvina is a peak in Gorgany, 1,671 meters high, near the village of Osmoloda in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The place is deaf and harsh, as befits this massif.

The landscape here is typical of Gorgan: huge piles of stone rubble, densely covered with yellowish-green lichens, and thick, hard-to-pass thickets of hemlock and alpine pine. The northern and southern slopes are steep and almost impenetrable, so you can't call it a walk.

Koretvina is part of the famous Grofetsko-Popadiy ring - the route from Osmoloda through Grofa, Parenky, both Popadis and the traverse of Petros Gorgansky back to the village. For those who love real Gorgans without decorations, this is the place.
