Mount Sandyk-Kaya (Novy Svet)

Sandyk-Kaya is a characteristic rocky mountain of the Inner Range of the Crimean Mountains. Like many local peaks, it is composed of ancient reef limestones, so it is essentially a petrified coral reef raised above the land for millions of years.

The name is telling: in Crimean Tatar sandik means chest, and kaya means rock. That is, in front of you is a stone chest, which stands out among the surrounding hills with its clear outlines.

We do not promise exact numbers and paved paths here, but we do promise silence and a characteristic view of the Crimean foothills. It is more comfortable to walk here in spring and autumn, when the sun does not burn and the slopes are not so dry and slippery.
