Tender May 2007

the Campaign to Crimea for May holidays for many is the traditional beginning of spring. From cold northern cities we come to Crimea to receive a few(a little;little bit) sun and spring flowering. So was and in it(this) to year. However weather has brought some corrective amendments in our plans. Tender May 2007 reminded late autumn, or even the beginning of winter more.  The meeting of group in Simferopol has passed(has taken place) under accompaniment of the bright sun and a warm wind. Tourists prepared for a cream from sunburn and solar glasses(spots). However in an hour after the beginning of a campaign the sky was tightened(delayed) with clouds. Many have sighed with simplification - the heat did(made) rise on CHatyr Dag intolerable.



When we, at last, have climbed up the bottom plateau, it became clear - years(summer) heat does not threaten us. Counter tourists spoke something about a minus six last night.

Northern slope of top plateau CHatyr Daga on 70 % has been covered by a snow. Well and it is direct under legs(foots) instead of violence of paints we saw faded autumn travku and not dismissed peonies.



The first spending the night has deprived with us four participants of a campaign …

No, all was by way of, all of them have woken up in the morning, simply have not calculated sleeping bags and have strongly frozen, that is why have decided to not continue experiments with the organism. The rest too was not zharko, but the determination to go forward was stronger than any fears. Children(guys) even have refused my offer to bypass top and to not go on the Hangar-breaker. And here, having packed in membrannye jackets, raincoats and capes, under a rain passing during a snow we have moved to top.

 

Weather did not promote halts, it was necessary to avoid stops, and I have made a decision to include the lowered transfer. I became ahead and have set the slowest rate on which only was capable. As a result, all in 40 minutes after the beginning of rise we have appeared at top, and it without a uniform stop. Fortunately above it was possible to find a place protected from a wind where we have abandoned backpacks and were a little supported with chocolates. Nearby guys from other group bathed in a snow and washed down with its(his) cognac - too had probably dinner.



All occured(happened) in the further was learnt already in comparison and consequently could not frighten us. Neither slippery stones on descent(release), nor a gale-force wind on a lodging for the night could not beat out from us sensation of a victory. Rise on the Hangar-breaker then still long recollected by all means using expressions like « a minus 50 », « as in the Himalayas », « never would think ». This ascention has obviously expanded representation of participants of a campaign about own opportunities and has given forces in struggle against the further difficulties.



In fact next night was not less cold, and next day not less difficult.

We should pass Angarsk pass and through the Valley of ghosts to climb up on Southern Demerdzhi. Weather the truth, has a little thought again also we even were in time slightly pozagorat. But we do not search for easy(light) ways and at absence of natural obstacles in our way, are capable to create man-made. More shortly, we had dinner before rise. All knew, that it is wrong, but famine tormented our stomaches and to wait 3 hours up to the end of rise would be torture. As a result we have got under way upwards with the filled stomaches(bellies) and protruding eyes. Here rest and frequent halts was to not manage. We had a rest on each stone and patiently waited, when peeping will be dissolved inside of us. Many swore more never to have dinner and perhaps to not have supper at all. With approach of night and occurrence of a kettle with their appetizing porridge dietary pyl it is a little pougas the decision all the same to have supper also was accepted. Exclusively with a view of maintenance of power balance (i.e. to not freeze at night) :)



You suspect it(this) our tests have ended?

Far from it. Next day the snow again has gone, and at one of participants of a campaign the knee has ached. As a result it(he) practically could not go downwards, and it to that day when only downwards to go and was planned. After long conversations and small arbitrariness we managed to take away from the victim a backpack and to distribute(allocate) its(his) contents. After two more transitions it(he) even has agreed on an injection soothing (it seems baralgina), that has returned to it(him) ability to move. We have taken advantage of it(this) and bystrenko have jumped to falls Dzhur-Джур, where have directed the victim (accompanied by two comrades) to a bosom of a civilization otlezhivatsja.



Thus us remains only 15. But each of 15 cost desjateryh. After all gone through adventures, my modest offer to bypass plateau Karabi a bottom, it has been met by an amicable laughter. We have gone(send) through top. Have passed(have taken place) all a plateau navylet and not having reflected at all have slipped turstojanku in CHigenitre. On full speed we have come tearing along to lake on border of vineyards where at last have found … spring.



Here there was a green grass and blossoming trees. Frogs in a pond croaked and sang birds. Even the tick creeping on clothes did not cause usual disgust - here it(he) was the oracle foretold warm night. Night when even the happy owner 500-грамового a sleeping bag could fall asleep.

 

I for a long time already am the supporter of the theory that everyone receives that campaign which wants also which deserves. And recollecting now tender May 2007 and our campaign, I am once again convinced of the validity of this statement.

We send(have come) here in searches of adventures and have received them wholly. And that all this seems recklessness so it is normal, I and itself so think (that does not stir(prevent) to me bezrassudstvovat further).



And at last there is some semi-official organ:

First, I should note excellent(different) equipment of children(guys) from Voronezh. Before a campaign they have bought(purchased) weight of equipment and have honesty tested it(him) in several campaigns of the day off. Very correct approach, I recommend.

Secondly, many thanks to all girls, for excellent(different) radio-and tele-translations. The conversations you supported(maintained) in us interest to a life during the heaviest moments. Curiosity did not allow to freeze in the evening and helped(assisted) to clamber uphill in the afternoon.

 Well and thirdly, many thanks to all group, all participants of a campaign for really warm and friendly atmosphere, mutual aid and understanding. By the end of a campaign we from kuchki individuals have turned to the amicable and cheerful company, and already one this fact justifies and cancels all deprivations and difficulties of a camp life.
