Velyka Blyznytsia

Velyka Blyznytsia

Mountain 📍 Carpathians

Velika Blyznytsia is the highest peak of the Svydovetsky massif, about 1,883 meters. Together with the slightly lower Mala Blyznytsia (1872 m), they form the same pair of twins, from which the name came.

The mountain rises above the famous ski resort Dragobrat, in the Rakhiv district of Transcarpathia, between the basins of Black Tysa and Kosivska. In summer, they go here for alpine meadows and glacial lakes, in winter - for snow.

The slopes are steep and sometimes rocky, so despite the homely name, the mountain requires respect and proper footwear.
