Mukacheve

Mukacheve

Mukachevo is one of the main cities of Transcarpathia, spread out on the banks of Latorytsia in the foothills of the Carpathians. The city is old and multifaceted: Hungarian, Russian, Czech and other influences were intertwined here, and each left its mark in the form of streets and buildings.

The main attraction is Palanok Castle, a powerful medieval fortress on a hill above the city, which can be seen from afar. The center of Mukachevo with its town hall, churches and cozy cafes is also worth a leisurely stroll.

For a traveler, the city is convenient as a base: from here you can easily reach the Carpathian mountain ranges, Transcarpathian castles, thermal baths and wineries. So Mukachevo often becomes not the end point, but a convenient starting point.
