This is a mountain massif in the Ukrainian Carpathians, in Transcarpathia, between the rivers Teresa and Chorna Tisza. The highest peak is Blyznytsia, 1,883 meters high, and the ridge itself stretches in an arc for about 25 kilometers.

What is worth seeing here, besides the peaks?

Glacial lakes high in the mountains - Apshinets, Vorozheska and others, which have remained since the glaciation. The northern slopes are covered with karams - cup-shaped hollows, which were also carved by ancient ice.

Is it possible to ski here?

Yes, Dragobrat operates on Svidovka - one of the highest ski resorts in the country. So not only pedestrians go here in winter.

What does the terrain look like for a hiker?

The contrast is palpable: wide gentle ridges above and narrow deep valleys below. Up to about 1,400 meters there are spruce and beech forests, higher open meadows begin.

What is interesting nearby?

Near the massif, near the village of Dilove, there is a point that is considered the geographical center of Europe. A convenient reason to add a tick to the route.
