Waterfall Su-Uchkhan

Waterfall Su-Uchkhan

Waterfall 📍 Crimea

Su-Uchkhan is a waterfall in the central part of the Crimean Mountains, near the village of Perevalne near Simferopol. The Kyzylkobinka River rises from a karst cave and rushes downwards from a height of about 25 meters, flowing down a tuff platform in a cascade of jets and whirlpools.

The name translates from Crimean Tatar as falling water, and it is difficult to argue with it. The same river that feeds the waterfall has flowed nearby the famous Red Cave (Kyzil-Koba) - one of the largest cave complexes on the peninsula.

The waterfall lies within the protected area, so you can usually get here as part of an excursion. It is the most abundant and spectacular in the spring and after the rains, when the mountain water does not accumulate.
