Twilight Trap in Slovenský raj - rescuing tourists from the Kysil via ferrata
In the afternoon, mountain rescuers received a call for help for a 31-year-old citizen Poľku and her seven-year-old son. The tourists were stranded on ferrate Kyseľ and were unable to continue their journey on their own as it began to get dark in the mountains.
Two employees of the regional rescue service Slovenský raj went to help. Upon arrival, they rescued the woman and child from the rocky terrain and escorted them to Kláštorisko.
From there, the mother and son were transported by a departmental SUV to point Podlesok, where they left their car before starting their journey.

Context
The HZS Kysil via ferrata is the only route of its kind in the Slovak Paradise National Park. The gorge was closed to visitors for four decades after a devastating forest fire in 1976 and only reopened in August 2016 as a rock path equipped with safety cables and metal steps.
Due to a special nature conservation regime, this one-way route is only available to tourists seasonally — from June 15 to October 31. Passage requires the mandatory use of certified via ferrata equipment with a helmet, and the ascent along waterfalls and narrow rock walls usually takes about two hours, not including the approach from the tourist bases.
