Visa types for entering Ukraine

Who can enter without a visa, how many days you may stay and what an electronic visa costs is in Visa requirements for entering Ukraine. This page only covers visa types.

Short-stay visa C

A type C visa is for a trip of up to 90 days within any 180 days when your passport is not visa-free. It is issued for one, two or several entries. The visa itself may be valid for up to five years, depending on the documents.

Long-stay visa D

A type D visa is for a stay longer than 90 days, after which you apply for a temporary residence permit. It is a multiple-entry visa valid for 90 days. It does not replace the permit.

Electronic visa

Some countries can use an e-Visa at evisa.mfa.gov.ua. It is usually valid for up to 30 days. A single entry costs 20 US dollars, a double entry costs 30. It is not a type D visa. Check the country list and the fee on the portal, because they change.

Transit

Transit, a private visit, business and tourism are purposes of a type C visa or an e-Visa. If a consulate asks for an invitation, it goes with the application before you travel. The visa is not issued at the border.

Where to apply is in Ukrainian embassies and consulates.

Crimea

A Ukrainian visa does not allow entry to Crimea from the Russian Federation. Crimea and Sevastopol are temporarily occupied. For now it is not a place for tourism.
