Hasan Dağı
Hasan Dağı is a dormant stratovolcano rising to roughly 3,250 metres above the plain a few dozen kilometres south-east of Aksaray. Its twin peaks are visible across much of southern Cappadocia. Researchers suggest that a Neolithic mural at Çatalhöyük may depict an eruption of Hasan, making it one of the oldest known landscape images in history.
