What is Dzembronya and where is it?
This is a mountain village in the Verkhovyna district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, through which the Dzembronya River flows. It lies within the boundaries of the Carpathian National Nature Park, so the views are applied automatically.
Why is Dzembronya interesting for a traveler?
This is where the route to the Chornohirsky Range, popular among mountain walkers, starts. In a couple of hours, you can climb to the top of Vukhati Kamin and take in the view towards Hoverla.
Are there waterfalls nearby?
Yes, nearby are the Dzembron (Smotrytsky) waterfalls. If you've already come all the way here, it's a sin to miss them.
Why does the village have a strange name story?
Founded in 1928, from 1946 to 2009 it was called Berestechko - a Soviet renaming classic. The old name was returned in 2009 after a local referendum.
Did someone famous leave a mark here?
Lesia Ukrainka and Vasyl Stefanyk visited here, and the artist Georgy Yakutovych created a whole series of engravings about the inhabitants of Dzembroni from the end of the 1960s.
