FAQFrequently asked questions

What is the Mound of Glory and who is it dedicated to?

This is a memorial to Crimean partisans who fought against German troops during World War II. Made in the form of a white star in honor of the Crimean partisan brigade "Grozna" and others who died in the battles of 1943-1944.

Where is he standing and at what height?

On Dovhorukivska yaila, a mountain plateau about 887 meters high. The place is open from all sides, so the star can be seen from almost everywhere on the plateau - they say, even from a satellite.

How to get there?

The easiest way is to climb Dovhorukivska Yaila on foot from Perevalny or Generalsky. The car is left at the bottom, then on foot: a flat plateau without clear landmarks, so a map or a track will not get in the way.

When is the best time to go?

From late spring to autumn, when the trees are dry and passable. In winter, there is wind and fog, due to which you can easily miss a white star, even if you are standing next to it.

What else to see nearby?

The names of the dead are engraved on the memorial slabs, the top is crowned with an iron pennant as a symbol of the eternal fire of memory. Obelisks to the partisans are scattered nearby, and the legendary partisan airfield once operated 6 km away.
