What is Ararat and what is its height?
This is an extinct volcano on the Armenian Highlands and at the same time the highest point in Turkey. It has two peaks: Great Ararat (5137 m) and Small Ararat (3896 m).
Where exactly is the mountain?
In the east of Turkey, near the border with Armenia. By the way, for Armenians it is a national symbol, although the mountain itself lies on the Turkish side.
Is this the same mountain with Noah's ark?
According to the biblical tradition, this is where Noah's ark stopped after the flood. No evidence was found on the slopes, but the story has held fast for more than one millennium.
When was it first conquered?
