FAQFrequently asked questions

What is Huashan and where to find it?

This is the sacred mountain of the Taoists, one of the five great peaks of China. It is located in Shaanxi Province, in the Qinling Range, near the city of Huayin.

What is the height here?

The mountain has five peaks. The highest, southern one, reaches 2160 meters - not Everest, but the scenery compensates.

How to get up?

A cable car will take you to the northern peak, then the peaks are connected by mountain paths. Some of the routes are famous as dangerous and quite extreme - not for those who are afraid of heights.

What to see here?

Taoist monasteries, pagodas, temples and bridges are scattered along the paths. Pilgrims leave red ribbons and locks here as a memory - a kind of local tradition.

When is the best time to go?

The climate is humid subtropical. In July, the average temperature is about 18 degrees, and in January it drops to minus 7 - a warm jacket in winter is definitely not superfluous to grab.
