How to import GPX into OsmAnd
Guide: OsmAnd + GPX
Your file is never uploaded — processing stays in your browser.
- Prepare a GPX file (viewer or converter). It never leaves your device when using our tools.
- Android: OsmAnd → My Places → Tracks → import; or share the GPX into OsmAnd.
- iOS: Share → OsmAnd; or Files → OsmAnd → Tracks.
- Enable the track on the map and navigate along it if needed.
For large tracks, simplify first for device limits.
Open GPX in OsmAnd on Android and iOS. Share from the file manager - we never receive the file.
Simplify large tracks first.
FAQ
Where do I find imported tracks in OsmAnd?
Usually under My Places → Tracks. Menu names can vary slightly by version.
Can I open a GPX from iOS Files in OsmAnd?
Yes. Use Share → OsmAnd or copy the file into the app Tracks folder.
How do I navigate along a GPX?
Enable the track on the map and choose follow-GPX navigation in navigation mode.
Why is the track not visible on the map?
Check the Tracks layer and zoom: the track may be loaded while the layer is off.
Does this guide also cover Organic Maps?
Partly. Organic Maps is a separate app; sharing via Share/Files works there too.
What if I only have a KMZ, not GPX?
Convert KMZ → GPX first, then open the GPX in OsmAnd.
