Should I book Polish Tatra huts in advance?
Yes. Book summer, weekend and holiday dates as early as possible, especially small Kondratowa and high-mountain Murowaniec and Five Lakes. Each property has its own rules and deposit.
Can I camp in Tatra National Park?
No. Wild camping in TPN is prohibited. Plan to stay in a hut or hotel and check park rules at tpn.pl.
What should I bring for a hut night?
Bring a light sleeping bag or liner, hut shoes, towel, earplugs, power bank and some cash. Bedding is not included everywhere and valley mobile coverage is unreliable.
Can I pay by card?
Larger properties often accept cards in dining rooms, but do not rely on this for accommodation or during network outages. Carry PLN cash; Morskie Oko explicitly requires cash, though it has an ATM.
Which hut suits each part of the Tatras?
Chochołowska and Ornak cover western valleys, Kondratowa and Kalatówki suit Giewont, Murowaniec serves Świnica and Orla Perć, while Five Lakes, Roztoka and Morskie Oko serve the high eastern routes.
