Sherpa Phur Galjen completes all 14 eight-thousanders — Ukrainian on the team

Confirmed: Sherpa Phur Galjen Sherpa from Thame (Solukhumbu) has joined the club of climbers who have summited all 14 eight-thousanders — on 1 August he topped Gasherbrum I (8,080 m) in Pakistan, only 11 days after Gasherbrum II (21 July). Phur Galjen’s career dates to 1997; first Everest in 1999, then 20 Everest summits, K2 twice, a rare autumn Nanga Parbat (2017) and more. Imagine Nepal also notes Yalung Kang (8,505 m, 2004) — 15 distinct peaks above 8,000 m. On the same Gasherbrum trip, Singapore’s Sim Phei Sunn became the first Singaporean to summit both GII and GI; Nepali climbers Aangdu Sherpa and Lhakpa Nuru Sherpa also topped GI.
