Bukhta Afrodity (Aphrodite's Rock)
Aphrodite Bay is a famous place on the southern coast of Cyprus, between Paphos and Limassol. According to an ancient Greek myth, the goddess of love Aphrodite was born here, from the foam of the sea, so the rock in the middle of the bay (Petra-to-Romiou) is known far beyond the borders of the island.
The coast here is pebbly, the water is clear, and the landscape with rocks jutting out of the sea is one of the most recognizable in Cyprus. The place is especially beautiful at sunset, when the tourist buses have already left and the rocks are illuminated by a warm light.
