FAQFrequently asked questions
What is Cirali and how does it differ from the usual Turkish resorts?
This is a small seaside village in the province of Antalya with a population of about 500 people, where instead of large hotels there are about seventy small guesthouses. It was developed deliberately as the opposite of mass tourism, so don't look for loud animations here.
How to get to Cirali?
It lies 40 km south of Kemer and 85 km from Antalya, on the coast in Beidaglari National Park. There is only one road leading to the village - about 7 km from the D400 highway.
What to see nearby?
Near the southern edge of the beach are the ruins of the ancient city of Olympos, known since the 2nd century BC. And a short walk uphill will bring you to Yanartash (Chimera Mountain) with natural gas fires that burn so much that Pliny the Elder wrote about them.
When is the best time to come?
From April to September. If you want to see Caretta-Caretta turtles - the females lay their eggs from about April to July, and the beach is more than 3 km long, which is why it has a protected status.
What is interesting to know about local turtles?
Chirali Beach is one of the important breeding grounds for loggerheads, and the number of nests has only been increasing since the beginning of the century: more than a hundred nests per season. This is overseen by the local conservation association, so be polite on the beach.
