What is Heynuk Canyon and where is it?
This is a narrow gorge about 4.5 km long near the village of Heynuk in Kemer District, Antalya Province in southwestern Turkey. It lies within the Beidaglari National Park.
How to get there?
A regular bus runs every hour from the village of Heiniuk to the entrance to the canyon, and you can also rent an SUV or a motorcycle. Those who don't like wheels will reach it on foot in about 45 minutes, then there is a mountain trail for 2-3 km.
What to do there?
Inside the canyon there are waterfalls and natural lakes, so trekking, swimming and canyoning are popular. It is also a part of the long Lycian Trail hiking route, so those who like long crossings have a place to go for a walk.
How much is the entrance fee and when is the best time to come?
As of 2022, tickets cost from 17 euros (with a pontoon crossing) to 23 euros (with canyoning). The park is fenced and closes at 19:00, so plan your visit carefully.
Is the infrastructure there ready for tourists?
Yes, tourist facilities with safety equipment, guide services and food have been operating in the canyon since 2009. That is, you will not have to rush blindly into the gorge.
