This is a mountain pass in the Pennine Alps at an altitude of 2853 meters, right on the border of Italy and Switzerland. It lies at the foot of the Monte Moro mountain, from where the Monte Rosa massif opens.
Where does this pass lead?
It connects the Swiss Saas-Almagel (Canton of Valais) with the Italian Macuñaga in Piedmont. It has long been an important border crossing between the Saas and Macunyaga valleys.
How to get there?
There is no road for cars - the pass is passed by a path, so be prepared to walk. This is one of the highest sections of the popular trekking route around Monte Rosa (Tour Monte Rosa).
When is the best time to go?
